The LED's are inserted into the sheet of plexi. with holes. and that is placed inside a completed box. This allows me to pull out the entire LED array to work on it in the future, without needing to work inside the box, or take apart the box itself. This also protects the electrical components from the salt water (bad!).

LED is the most popular lighting for reef aquariums, primarily due to its high energy efficiency. Most units are controllable and, depending on the model, you can dial in the exact color you prefer. Unlike T5 & Halide lights, there are no lamps to change. Even better news: LEDs generally last many years. They run cooler and can achieve the same light intensity with a smaller energy footprint.

Jan 20,  · In reality I question the suitability of a LED cluster on a tank that deep, ultimately it depends on the livestock and as you say rock work will help. Like Reply. Many LED kits include lights to illuminate your tank at night, often in shades of blue. When you turn off the bright daytime lights, the softer night lights allow you to enjoy your tank without interfering with the fish's sleep schedule.

LED lighting has led to a revolution in the aquarium hobby. Older tech used lots of electricity, produced excessive heat, and lacked control. High output LED lights can grow the toughest corals and plants with vibrant colors and minimal electricity. This is especially important with nano reef led .

A saltwater tank will need special lighting especially if it is a reef aquarium. Reef aquariums are better off with LED, metal halide, and plasma lamps to sustain a balanced ecosystem. In this circumstance, it is best to ask for an aquarium lighting guide to provide the best options for the size of aquarium and the survival of aquatic life.
